A tree company that tells you which ash to save
We started because Sioux Falls is losing a lot of trees fast, and homeowners deserve a straight answer about which ones need to come down, which can be saved, and when the work is allowed.

Sioux Falls is South Dakota's biggest city, about 209,000 people by the Census Bureau's 2024 estimate, and its biggest Tree City USA. Its trees were planted by hand on open prairie, replanted after Dutch elm disease, and now about 40 percent of them, the ash, are being killed by emerald ash borer. The City has taken down nearly 17,000 ash from its own property since 2019, and estimated in 2024 that about 45,000 more stood on private land. Every one of those owners will face the same decision.
Sioux Falls Tree Co. is a locally operated tree company, not a franchise or a call center. We book and manage residential tree work across Sioux Falls, Brandon, Harrisburg, Tea, Hartford, Dell Rapids, Canton, Lennox, Crooks and Renner. The crews that do the work hold the City of Sioux Falls arborist's license that Code § 94.060 requires for paid tree work in the city, and carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance.
What we stand on
Look first, then quote
An estimator identifies the tree, measures the trunk, judges the canopy and the decay, and looks at what it would hit, before anyone names a number. Plenty of trees can be pruned or treated instead of removed, and we say so.
Work by the calendar
No ash cut from Memorial Day to Labor Day, no oaks pruned in April through June, elms in the dormant season, and treatment injections from leaf-out to mid-June. Emergencies are the only exception.
Keep the wood where it belongs
Ash and all hardwood stay inside the state's EAB quarantine counties. Everything we cut is chipped or hauled to the landfill's wood pile, and the tipping fee is in our price.
Answer the phone
Calls are answered 24 hours a day, including storm nights. An estimator calls back the next business morning for everything that isn't an emergency.
